GAMV-TOMB OF MAHMUD KHALJI


TOMB OF MAHMUD KHALJI

- tower (northeast) was raised of 7 storied-commemorate his victory over the rana of mewar.
-only its basement of height of 9.8m exists
-interior-rests on square of 19.9m
-walls -3.5m thick-so collapsed after some generations
-openings-3-middle on more loftier
--for carvings and calligraphy Persians artists were involved
--sarcophagus was placed on beautifully carved yellow marble base which still exists
-facing-in marbel of white,yellow and black added charm
-dome expected of having height of 7.6m
