MALIK MUGHITH’S MOSQUE

-built-started by malik mughith(father of mahmud khalji)

-date-1432A.D.

-plan-central court-enclosed by colonnades-1 asile deep

         -except west one which is 4 asile deep

-entrance-through projecting and raised platform

-rooms-on both sides of entrance-in basement

            -use—for staff and pilgrims

-dome-surmounted the porch

           -not in existance

-arches-built across the corners-changed the plan into

          octagon –produced disharmony in general design

         of porch

-ceiling-western colonnade consists of 3 small domes

             ,with flat or star shaped arches

-hall-below domes are square

-wall-west-carved with niches

        -mihrabs being adorned with blue and bands of

         floral designs
